ERS-1 is an object launched in 1991 in a low earth orbit, between 738 and 782 km above the Earth. It completes one orbit every 100 minutes, about 14.4 times a day, on a path tilted 98.8° to the equator. That tilt means it can pass over places as far north and south as 81° latitude.
